A Song of Two Halves


	You can put us into half way houses But we can chain ourselves to buses You can provide day care centres We can make ourselves a nuisance You can benefit from testing out integrity We can unite for our peace of mind You can question our capacity If I can hold yours you can hold mine You can protest at our protestations We can learn some simple sign language You can claim its in the name of charity We can use our sign language in solidarity If you don't like what you're hearing Then learn to understand what's being said Because we don't need to bleed your system We just want to move ahead We can be happy - we can be sad Take out our frustrations - and we can be bad But give me opportunity to break my chains Give me independence - then I'm born again Living my life is all I want to do To make love under the stars - to visit Clapham or Crewe It doesn't have to be a life less ordinary Just a life where I have the choice to be me
